Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. At first I was planning on only writing from Spike's point of view, like, what he's experiencing during this separation period. I figured that since he's the main cha

Wow, it's been six years already.

Who knew a story like this turned out to be a hoot when it was all for a test run on how i would interact with the world of the Great Mouse Detective. Not to mention it would spawn inspired spin-offs!

I couldn't be more proud of this story because it was the first completed fanfic that had many of my friends pushing me to finish. It brought me many friends and fans, so I'm happy for this story to have come a long way.

Thank you all for keeping the story alive today. I'll forever love the Great Mouse Detective and I'll forever love the story I left on the internet.

Wow, 6 years already... ^_^ I can't believe it, myself!

Well, as you already know, I loved your story to pieces--& I still do! ^_^ It's definitely one of the best fanfics I've seen from another GMD writer, both story- & character-wise! :D And I'm still working busily on my sequel to TME that I told you about... ;) It's all coming along, piece by piece! :)

Congrats on 6 years!!! :D

I loved your story. Though admittedly I was skeptical going into it but I loved it after reading the first chapter! There are so many things about it that I loved. One being the way you interacted with all of the cast. ^_^ Mostly it was the mystery and adventure behind it all! I love mystery and it had a bit of wonderful fantasy(which I love also) that got me even more hooked. :D Which seems like a good place to say, thank you! You're story inspired Worth Getting Hooked. :la: HUZZAH!

I loved how it wasn't like other trite self-inserts.
You story changed and flowed through it's developement, and showed ACTUAL developement for one thing
I loved seeing your take on all the delightful characters and how one girl could change their lives. It really showed your love for the characters and sort of your inner wishes to be that change.
I'm not that good with words...I wish I could describe how I loved the fanfic more...
It was more than a love story. It was...a beauty-of-life story. I...I dunno what to call it. i suck at giving reviews. I can't form an intelligible thought on this...I wish I could. I just...I loved it. The cast, the characterization, the developement of story and cast, the demensions this story took...it's just one of the best fanfics I've read...ever...if not THE best.
